Noel was also this decade, among other great episodes. And, more damningly, the shows you mentioned were great. But there is absolutely no way that in 5 years, reasonable people will look back on this decade and think that Eastbound & Down, Futurama, or Big Love were better shows. Just to name a few.

The President has just admitted that he covered up an illness that, in theory, could have jeopardized his judgment in office.

Glen Hansard
Should be cast. Seriously. I'm far more interested in seeing if he can act beyond Once than I am watching Ruffalo or Carrey in a romantic comedy.

Zack, Kick the Can
was an original Twilight Zone episode before Spielberg adapted for the movie…just saying.

But a lot of the actual jokes in episode one—there are six, all of which already aired in the UK—seemed aimed squarely at a real
It seems like this show should have more than 6 jokes.

@ Jarry the creators of Justified acknowledged they went too far towards standalone episodes in season 1, and they found a great balance in season 2, that tilted far more towards an overall arc. In fact, it was some of the best work with integrating smaller storylines into an overall arc since, I don't know, The West

I thought that was good, too. Maybe only because it was DVD/MTM, but still, I liked it.

This seems like that Star Trek TNG episode
where Picard is stuck on the planet with the alien whose species only speaks in metaphors.

Since when did
F. Murray Abraham take roles on Locked Up Abroad?

There's also a ton of MST3K on Netflix Watch Instantly, but I'm sure you either knew that already or don't care about Netflix.

My Two Choices
Either Team Zissou, or the Clooney-led version of Ocean's Eleven.

OP, I'm going to ask this, because I'm genuinely curious. Did you see Dan in Real Life?

Also, I mean, was it really a failure? It was a failure in that it had no audience, but it's not like it was bad.

Why, though? I thought it made total sense there, as the first time all season that Colvin/Wysocki had something totally unknown to Gibbons, the Vincent Wysocki stuff. Gibbons had managed to take out Killian, there was no other link to him in his mind. That was the end game, and he'd obviously moved on to calling

Bones, CSI, NCIS, Law and Order etc.
I have no idea how these shows find such an audience, while The Chicago Code doesn't. Thank God Justified was conceived as a cable show, because even though it would probably be the best network drama, there's no way it would have made it.

Absolutely, great call. Two Cathedrals, right? Perfect marriage of music and scene, in a pivotal moment of a great episode of television.

Justified
The point about this being the only policier on where you can watch adversaries exchange pleasantries while plotting, etc, I'd argue is contradicted by Justified.

Tyronn Lue
%I'm going to go out on a limb and say that less than 5% of AVClub readership knows who Tyronn Lue is, but Sean, it made me laugh.

For what it's worth, Davies is playing anything but that character type on Justified this season.

The theory of Raylan returning to Harlan as sheriff is bolstered by the emergence of Boyd as the new Harlan kingpin…season 3 featuring an escalating Boyd vs. Raylan plotline doesn't seem too farfetched.
