Question about movie. *** SPOILER ALERT ***

Dr. Pitlor was one of the few great things about True Detective season two.

Six episodes into the season and there's been, maybe, a handful of scenes that matched the greatness of season one. Everything else has been boring and confusing. You'd think it'd finally dawn on me that that this season is not, nor ever will be, season one and I should stop watching because I'm not enjoying it.

Pizzolatto's dialogue this season has mostly been awful. That said, he did come up with this, said by Dr. Pitlor, 'Your compensatory projection of menace is a guarantor of its lack, and it says something about the depths of your misperceptions."

When your orgy scene induces yawns, you're doing it wrong.

The character could've just as easily been male as female. I don't think one's developed a strong female character when her sex is basically arbitrary.

I have no clue who Stan was, so I wasn't sure if the scene were Frank consoles Stan's son was supposed to show Frank as a good guy or a dick.

Other than the Conway Twitter impersonator, I can't think of a single thing in season two that doesn't reek of familiarity.

Why would Ray meet Ani at that bar? What if Frank came in? And wouldn't the Conway Twitty impersonator be better suited to play that venue than the girl singer? The patrons, other than Frank and Ray, seem to have last listened to new music sometime in the 70s.

I agree 100% about Farrell.

"Don't do anything hungry, not even eating."
"Sometimes your worst self is your best self."
"Blue balls in your heart."

If Ray lives because the would be killer assumed Ray wasn't wearing a bullet proof vest and felt no need to blast him between the eyes, the show will diminish considerably for me. That's just too cheap a gimmick to pull.

True, but as someone who spent a lot of time by myself, when I made the effort to "go out into the world," I can't say there weren't many awkward moments. These guys appear to have made that transition seamlessly. And good for them! I can't wait to watch the movie.

Saw a few interviews with them. They come across as very smart and very sociable. I know a lot of non-shut-ins who aren't nearly as adept socially as these guys.

M. Night's career is the antithesis to the 10,000 hour rule. The more time he spends on his work, the worse he gets. Sure, it's hard to match The Sixth Sense, but geez Louise, nothing he's done since comes even close to that.

No Sandler fan at all, but in his defense, his "comedy" offends everyone, regardless of race.

Is that Jennifer Rubin? Oh,boy, don't get me started…

Saw all three films in a quick succession. They are haunting and hypnotic. I found the subplot with the girl in Face of Another to be profoundly sad.

I only saw the first two episodes and while I wasn't expecting a factual account of Marco (and Kublai's) iife, the liberties the show took with history was jarring. I highly doubt the real Marco was trained in martial arts by a blind guy. And a butt naked woman is going to slay three armed warriors? All that would

I saw the first two, as well. Nothing I saw made me want to see more episodes. These reviews, though, are making me think I should give the show another shot.
