I feel the same way! BMW still offers a 328 wagon, but it’s no bigger than my 9-3. I crossed shopped the 9-3 and 3 series wagon in 2007! It’s the same with the V60, I have growing kids, it’s not big enough. That and their questionable reliability since they got new owners.

Aside from the obvious problems, some people seemed to be going way too fast for the conditions.

That is a dilemma that I too am facing. I’m leaning towards a CPO Taurus SHO. I rented a Taurus Limited in 2015 and I really liked the way it rode. Plus my wife said out of all the rental cars we’ve used over the years, the Taurus was the only one that was as comfortable as our 07 9-3 Aero.
