for the first 25 minutes the only things I liked was the song on the boat & Barney's quick assessment of himself. Ted & Marshall high was too repetitive. yeah the last 5 minutes were successfully moving & gut-punching, but at this moment it sticks in my craw too much that 3 of our 5 heroes are straight up cheaters.

and yet nbc couldn't wait to air an intereview tonight with an old guy who, at best, showers with children, and allegedly much worse. leonard would've fucked up that bastard on the spot.

yes, the late great Pushing Daisies. Really just thank you for referring to Root in a capacity other than Milton, which seems to be all most people (or at least outside the hallowed halls of A.V. Club) mention him for any more. The man was Jimmy James, for crying out loud! respect! (and oh yeah, University of Florida

my mid-day ESPN report card:

"excuse me, my breasts are down here."

"It's a Pocket Jesus. Thought maybe during the hard times it would help you see the light. [pause] It's also a light." (Sometimes I get an Anne from Arrested D vibe from her.)

they actually summarized the backstory pretty succinctly in the beginning of this ep. It came from a fantastic episode in season 1 that served as a crucial chapter to the legend of Ted Mosby: Long-Suffering Hopeless Romantic (before he met the mother).
While it's perfectly reasonable to think a girl he talked to on

Leonard should have just done the naked man. NAKED MAN!

I was showing up here certain someone would already have made some sort of comment about Sue smuggling pumpkins all this time, but that'll do, Bear.

my favorite ep of the Middle so far. Sue killed it: that whole scene in the house with the phones waiting for the call, then leaping over the counter, all gold. I actually thought Axl's story was the least of the three, just because they paid off Brick's at the end with his little Keyser Soze moment.

the writing of the wiggly finger episode: a play in one act

spot on. except I'd drop the guy who played Walt, not a fan. And if Andy shows up to play 30yo punk Matthew, or even Smatthew, he gets elevated a couple.

So not too long ago I was thinking about making this suggestion to you, Donna — now that your run recapping Newsradio was over, what about filling in the first two seasons of HIMYM? Sure that would be completely unorthodox here, and it's probably not like this is your most favorite show, and there may be other

Sorry to nit-pick but actually Nevermind was #3 behind R.E.M.'s "Out of Time" at #2. R.E.M. is my favorite all-time band so I remember this, but still, placing OoT that high was slightly outrageous.

wha?? my issue did not contain any such thing, just a cardstock insert for the playboy club which, by the way, i won't let the fluffy tails fool me, but i also won't let them intrigue me whatsoever.

Agreed. I had thought in the opposite direction, say remember on Seinfeld when Jerry got heckled then thought what if I went to where she worked and heckled her, and then he did it? That for an hour every week would be AWESOME.

this is the greatest thing I have ever read ever.

Foley directed this episode, which I'd bet explains plenty about about Crazy Dave in this one (and maybe why Lisa gets a leather jacket?). I wonder how much time has passed in the show's universe between Dave trying to save everyone (even Matthew) from Andrea's downsizing one season ago to now wanting to fire everyone

life is crazy. no one gets me. castles wash away… sandcastles in the saaaand; eternity turns to black and white, it was the greatest "friday" of my life…

one thing though…
"I am the unholy succubus trying to corrupt your immortal soul; I am very very very sorry and it will never happen again." [may not be exact]
