I am American. The difference between you and I is likely the fact that I understand our system of government and you do not.

Just remember that the people elect them. Others can try and blame interest groups, corporations, etc., but the people are the only ones to have an actual vote. If they allow themselves to be herded and swayed by such groups, it still doesn't absolve them of the responsibility or the consequences.
