That chart leaves out that Chevron also acquired Gulf Oil in the 80s. My uncle, along with a whole bunch of other folks, lost their jobs in that acquisition.

Man, who peed in your Post Toasties?

Eh, buy one from a junkyard for $200 and swap it and call it good. It shouldn’t be a hard swap to do.

Never mind fighting me for it. At that price, you’ll have to fight David Tracy for it... that is, if it’s not too boring for him: tires aside, it *should* make it back to Michigan without issue. Plus or minus that back brake.

Some states use that plate for what other states call collector vehicles, i.e. anything that’s over 25 years old. South Dakota’s another one.

Looks like a good car in good shape. AWD and a manual, even. But $5K? There’s a guy trying to get the cost of the paint job back. $3K, put the suspension back where it belongs, and we’ll talk. CP.

Well, the steering column definitely is, for one thing. That cruise control level that the OP complained about? That’s classic Mercedes, as long as they’ve had cruise controls. Look at an early 70s 107 or 114. I had a rental Magnum once and thought the cruise lever was in a weird place and kept hitting it, but when I

You city folks love your densely packed rabbit warrens, but don’t force the rest of us into them. The answer to congestion is not packing people in tighter, but rather remote work so you don’t have to commute at all.

Yeah. My ML250 Bluetec gets 33 MPG on the highway, the best of any vehicle I’ve ever owned. Why should I downsize to something that won’t carry the loads I need?

Some collector will snap it up at this price. NP just for that.

Amen. I had a 2001 E320 4Matic wagon that I loved, and would do this car easily..if it weren’t for the flood damage. You’ll never get the gremlins out of this one. CP at any price above “we’ll pay you to haul it away”.

You, madame, have more of an iron butt than I do. These days, if it doesn’t have a three-pointed star, I’m not roadtripping it. (Well, maybe a Lexus, if they’d lose that hideous spindle grille.)

I;m not sure I’d drive a Smart from Denver to Chicago even if they did give it to me for free. That’s either two sensible days or one very long one in a little bitty car that’s not known for being a comfortable highway cruiser.

My 5-foot-6 roommate would beg to disagree with you...his dad had one of these, and he said he was always reaching down to the shifter.

That’s a Pentastar on the grille, not seven slots. You won’t get very far with it at Moab. Go on, give it a pass.

It’s a Toyota that’s in great shape and hasn’t been beat to shit. $3K NP, no matter what the model.

Sorry. Put a decent grille on it and I might well consider it; I’ve had two Lexus SUVs in the past I loved. That grille, however, is full of nope. I’ll go buy a Mercedes instead.

I don’t know if I’d off-road it or not. The LX, however, is a damn fine vehicle, and ad under 200K, it’s just getting started. The mods are clean, though the front bumper looks just plain weird and I could do without the dog cage. The lift doesn’t look grotesque as far too many lifts do. Not a smoking deal, but NP

Corvette? Non-malaise era? $7K? Where do I sign? NP.

You can get 2008 M-class diesels all day long for this price, and you won’t have the Audi electrical gremlins to deal with. Not only that, but the 2008 doesn’t need DEF, either. CP.
