Because the chassis has to be designed around the battery pack. It would nuke the efficiency gains of going EV (read: excess mass/fucked up driving dynamics) to cram EV architecture into an ICE chassis.

Their editorial freedom was protected by their contract, and more subjectively by their success (read: lucrative site clicks) and journalistic integrity (stretch for a blog, but you catch my drift). One person was fired, the rest quit.

Well, Deadspin was bigger than Jalopnik, affording them the capability and opportunity to maintain viable sub-blogs that focused on more than #JustSporks. That shouldn’t be held against them as it generated significant site traffic.
