I’ve never worked for a company that pays all of the premiums. And each year my % share increases.
Why they had three kids when they make so little money seems like a fair question to ask. Three children can be a serious financial burden to even a middle class couple.
Just as a brief sidebar: the “no access to clinics and gym” bit is pretty standard. Our office is the same way, for insurance purposes. It sucks, but it’s the nature of the beast unfortunately.
One thing I love about my job is that whenever we exceed our monthly goal every person in the department gets a bonus; from the manager to the part time new hire. If you worked anytime in the month we broke our goal you get a bonus. It is based on your hours worked so working more does get you a bigger bonus but…
Just be cool. If you’re cool and someone still builds up a grudge just because you’re good at your job, they suck anyway.
One thing I highly recommend: be generous with public praise for your colleagues — provided you are authentic about it. Am I the only person that doesn’t use store/restaurant free WiFi? Hotel WiFi is the only WiFi I’ll use outside of my home and office. Do people really use the free WiFi at stores all that much? Serious question.

But if you have a media server feeding the rest of your house, then these speeds do matter. Not everyone streams their videos directly from the internet.
