Well, it's true that all series do it. The 'Hate Train' is because the show is so popular, people in general have much higher expectations. I agree with you on pretty much all of that, but it still makes those episodes unsatisfying to watch.

I think bottom line, the problem is that the show has had two episodes where characters literally didn't move more than 5 feet. You can do that in books and manga, but in the anime it just isn't compelling viewing.

No, all they had to do was take out 50 minutes of brooding from the 9 episodes (still leaving us a full 10-20 minutes of brooding to get the point across without spending two entire episodes where the characters sit around figuring out what to do.

I'm very happy that 'X-Com' style turn-based strategy games are becoming a thing again.

My wife is a medical student, and very soon she'll be the primary breadwinner by at least 2/3rds our household income. This does not bother me at all. I have to agree, Battle of Trost shouldn't have been more than 4 episodes, much less 9.
