Misha Green would probably be a much better DW showrunner than Chibnall has been.

Okay, that is her official designation now. Hippolyta is a Time Lord.🤷🏾‍♀️
Hippolyta, Time Lord made my nerdy Doctor Who loving heart sing in this otherwise incredibly difficult episode. Love your write-up and analysis!
Exactly. Being non-violent in the face of extreme violence just means extreme genocide. It’s not as if they were like, “oh, these people are being peaceful, guess we better stop being so brutal”.
Yes, because non-violence has worked so well. There is nothing irresponsible about this narrative for it is historically accurate and Black folks in my family and community armed themselves so I can be here writing these recaps.
1. He walks in and sees the two women in his life sitting across from each other, and one is pregnant. He has serious communication issues with everyone in his life so the thought that they have been communicating in the context of his poor communication—panic (which, for Tic almost always manifests as anger).
I was also confused by Ji-Ah’s appearance in the episode...and once she shows up, further confused by Tic’s rage. After time and all that’s happened since, wouldn’t he want to seek aid or understanding from her...? I rewatched that scene twice and still puzzled by it.
True story, I think there’s a rushing issue with those writeups, they’re often full of inaccuracies. As much as I want to read and gossip about LC IMMEDIATELY after I finish an episode, Kinitra’s recaps are worth the wait! I always learn so much.
You put the AV Club write ups to shame.Â
The choreography of the Topsy twins was just so awesome and freaky at the same time.Â
They leaned hard af into Afrofuturism. Simply into one of the aspects that isn’t as well known as other. But this is deep Afrofuturism, they did a lot of research. I would recommend the paper in the reference section for more information.
Seeing Leti holding the baseball bat, shaking in fear of the man who she loves (maybe?) ready to use it if his anger turns physical, was VERY triggering to me. I’ve seen way too many variations of that scene play out IRL with my relatives and female friends.
