This is not in the article but GameStop purchased a online pop culture/novelty retailers a few years back (ThinkGeek) and some of that stuff  listed were things they would get into. 

BvS should have been written like “Injustice” or go full on “Civil War” that spans maybe 2 movies.

That delay was a little of both, saw an interview with Serkis where he explains in that they did not want the two movies to be released that close together so you have this one in 2016 and the next version in 2018. Which makes a lot of sense to avoid confusion.

Cars are not breaking for plastic bags.... that is just plain silly.
