This is a bit different. FCA isn’t going to sue you for modifying the software on your truck. If an aftermarket vendor makes a software fix, you’re free to use it. You’ll probably void your warranty, but you’re not going to get sued by FCA for doing it. Deere wants to sue you if you modify it. Imagine if FCA started

This is where regulations are a good thing, for all the Libertarians out there, because OBD regulations actually require that manufacturers allow for diagnostic information to be commercially available for independent repair shops and consumers.

That’s not really the case with companies like Deere. They specifically implemented DRM protections that stop users, or 3rd party repair centers, from doing nearly any repair or modification unless they have a software license like a authorized dealer.

psst - no there aren’t. For example, there are sensors that tell the tractor how far above the ground a spray bar is. If that sensor fails, then replacing it requires the factory software to “reauthorize” the spray bar.

“Also, couldn’t a farmer legally set up a tractor service center to work on their own tractor? 3rd party services were legalized in the 70's(?) for cars”

If this was only Deere vs Farmers, I would be right there with you.

Theres a difference here.

Tell that to BMW, and probably others, who you have to bring the car to the dealer to replace the battery, because the car has to be programmed that there is a new battery in place. Also, you can’t just replace the battery with any off the shelf unit from the local parts store. You have to get one that’s specifically

The question has been answered tho: you don’t own the game, you own a License to play the game when accessed by whoever you bought the License from.
But, you can always backup your downloaded games if you don’t want them on your main HD and then you have access.... until that HD dies (but ofc you can move the files

I mean at this point it feels like No Man’s Sky has eclipsed star citizen by simply being out there and playable. It does a lot of what star citizen promised and doesn’t charge you uo to $10,000 for a single star ship.

People keep buying it because it stays interesting and relevant for players. I keep going back to it and I bought it at launch, but I have seen friends buy copies as time goes on because they come around and get interested.

And fuckin’ Tearaway.

What an incredibly disingenuous take on what I was saying and how incredibly naive to think a words meaning and context can’t change over time or isn’t inherently tied to how the person is using it in their language.

Would it kill her to accept an ounce of blame for running a piss-poor campaign and condemning us all to 4-8 years of Trump? Fuck her and the corporate funded jet she flew in on. She’s was and is part of the problem and the best thing she can do to be part of the solution is to go get lost in the woods again.

I have my issues with Sanders’s being an independent throughout his career instead of just being a Democrat. But your post is basically nonsense.

In the doc, you’re brutally honest on Sanders: “He was in Congress for years. He had one senator support him. Nobody likes him, nobody wants to work with him, he got nothing done. He was a career politician. It’s all just baloney and I feel so bad that people got sucked into it.” That assessment still hold?

For me, it’s Ana Ng or Hotel Detective.

Great article!

A. The only thing worse than autoplay is autoplay with sound. I know I’m speaking to the choir, but seriously. Fuck autoplay.

Yup. But the myth just won't die. I mean, Mazda continued to race the rotary in the GTS class and then even LMP! It was never ever banned and the notion that it was banned is completely ridiculous
