Thought I was the only one. It’s much, much clunkier (though a bit prettier) now.

You’d get along well with the woman I met at the Philly Auto Show a few years back who said (word for word), “I would rather chew my own leg off than buy another Volkswagen.”

Going to have to go with the Crown Vic (specifically this ‘11 PI). You can’t argue that the Crown Vic oozes ‘merica: It’s a big ass car rockin’ a big V8, has legendary reliability, and it’s recognizable around the world as the symbol of legendary Americn law enforcement.

If it’s best all-rounder we’re after, I’m going with either the Focus or the Mazda3. If you go for hatchback and stick, MSRP for both is right around $19K. IIRC the Focus is cheaper to insure, so that’s where my money would go.

Who really cares about the base model Audi? Does anyone lust after an A4?

Luxury, you say? Why not snag this ‘07 Lincoln Navigator super-stretch limo? Looks like a club, rides like a living room couch, and has enough room for all of your friends. You’re welcome.

I really like the Cruze. A few years back when I was shopping I looked at it, but wound up buying its little brother (the Sonic). If they keep the diesel around I’d seriously consider this for my next ride.

Interesting. Didn’t know that chrome wheels were government issue on the M998.

Ugh, still grayed-out so you beat me to it. Posted that last night. Good choice!

Could I get un-grayed? Pretty please?

This rotary’d ‘79 Mazda GLC Sport. Has a bit of cosmetic damage and a kinda-janky transmission, but what do you expect for 36-year-old $5k car? I’m sure this thing won’t be winning any drag races, but I bet it’s a blast to drive.

Anecdotal, but I heard a woman at a NAIAS event say—and I quote, “I would rather chew my left foot off than buy another Volkswagen.”

This is amazing.

I’m available for design consulting. $1,000/hour.

I’m a huge Apple fan; almost everything in my tech ecosystem has their name on it.

2:04 with the Koenigsegg:

This Dinan-flavored 1990 750IL. For only $15K you get one of the best-looking cars BMW has ever made with a twin-turbo V12 and “Brambo” brakes. Take the other half of your money and put it towards your first repair(s).

If you’re technologically-inclined (and have an Android) you can snag a cheap Bluetooth OBDII reader off Amazon and hook it up to Torque (http://torque-bhp.com/) and set up a web interface on your own server with some open source stuff and little legwork: https://github.com/econpy/torque.
