Stuff and nonsense. Misandry is certainly a thing. It is admittedly not something that we as a society have all that many large-scale problems with, but it certainly does exist.

It's an interesting thing, because it's referring to two definitions of the word 'cuckold,' one of which is misogynistic and the other is misandrist.
You finally figured out the ???? step in the '1) Do [thing] 2) ???? 3) Profit' meme! Good Job!
I would think that comparing a tape from the 80s (actually, it looks like it's probably a mid-90s tape, given that there's a Jurassic Park promo in the case when he opens it) to a new recording on a VHS wouldn't be a fair comparison, given that the older tape would have suffered from longer periods of magnetic…
And it was made in the same year as Remains of the Day. The two are kind of bookends of a performance - two reserved characters, one who remains reserved and one who doesn't.
They're both good films, just like many of the films listed in the article (I take exception with at least half of the article's examples, but de gustibus non est disputandum and all that).
If one gets away, don't worry. There are plenty of crackers in the barrel.
Bos is a decent guy character who neither pisses off nor needs a woman.
If I recall correctly, he had a line about wanting an aspiring, energetic, and dedicated #2 behind him, so he could leave all the actual work to that person.
To some extent, sure. But there are very big differences between laws regarding practices (patents) and laws against speech (copyright). Both are types of intellectual property, but we do deal with them differently.
You two should read up on derivative works.
I am no expert, but I would assume that the manufacturing process for a chemical would be something protected by a patent, not a copyright.
You seem to lack basic reading comprehension. I did not say that women should 'quit Hollywood.' Let me, first and foremost, be very clear: I agree that Hollywood should stop being sexist.
You should note that I never said Hollywood was not sexist, misogynist, unfair, bad, etc. Indeed, I said that Hollywood often treats actresses very badly, that it is full of sexism, etc, and that it should be better on all of those problems and issues.
Hollywood (to the extent we can consider Hollywood a monolithic industry, which is stretching things) *might* ruin your *Hollywood* career if you don't play by its disgusting rules. There are other careers (including other acting careers) that do not run through Hollywood. I agree that actresses are often treated very…
Yes and no. He becomes more empowered in some senses and less in others. And throughout the entire series he grows more and more pitiful.
As someone who has a good deal of experience in shooting guns, the gun shots on this show are nothing like gun shots in real life. The reason you hear a hollow pop-pop on the news is because gunshots are so loud that they blow out most microphones' recording capabilities.
I don't know. Season 2 didn't work for me, and Season 1 *really* did, even though I acknowledge that a number of the big plot points are hackneyed in both of them.
I prefer to read it as:
I too am not head-over-heels for the show the way others are (its plot and characters are all kind of a pulpy mess of a dozen different pot-boiler genres and archetypes: Fight Club mixed with Macbeth mixed with American Psycho mixed with Taxi Driver mixed with etc etc), but unlike you I enjoy the visual style of the…
