I agree with everyone about the cops should devote more time to other driving issues but although no one is advocating driving at crazy speeds in residential neighborhoods people still do. As for my mom if the girl had been driving at a more reasonable speed she might have had more time to avoid the accident.

The article is about speed limits that's why the comments are focused on them. As for breaking the flow of traffic by adhering to the speed limit, I'd like to see a successful prosecution. Otherwise I tend to agree with you.

I agree with almost all you said but again you're missing out on the unforseeable event happening, see my reply to tommygun45

I appreciate your valid points but you didn't address my central point; you can be the best driver in the world but if you are over the speed limit (arbitrarily set or not) then you have less time to react when that kid runs in front of you or the car in front of you breaks suddenly than if you were traveling more

"Thanks to your logic I proved that 50% of all Americans are killer morons who love Hitler."

I just can't believe the retarded crap I'm reading here from all you perfect, or bored, or late for work, or granny-hating drivers. Speed limits aren't about you. Speed limits are about protecting everyone else from you. The kid who runs into the road, the urban traffic with its lights and left and right turns and bad

you talk bollocks

Which one of these reasons would you give to the arresting officer when you splatter a kid who ran into the road after his ball?

I'm probably the only other person here in agreement with you. I will add staying within the speed limit is the law. We don't choose to ignore other laws because we don't like them (by and large) such as murdering someone or having sex with a 5 yo. What's different about speeding?

It's just a means of getting where you need to go.... slowly... at 35MPH.... on a clear road.... in the middle of september... with the windows rolled up... with a kid running out into the road after his ball just a little too close for you to stop in time... while you're looking in your rear view mirror.

A true cat lover.

I cut the bottom off 2 and 3 liter soda bottles and remove the label. These fit nicely over a lot of my plants and being transparent rather than translucent they leave light levels at normal. Wedge an over-large piece of real sponge (the dead animal kind) inside the round dome bit at the top of the bottle and poke a

Hey Alan, can you show us a video of you trying this out?

In Vista you can use perfmon /res for the same thing.

How do you snort coke with a dollar coin?

They have a monopoly on Cool. Linux is definitely not cool, MS is as cool as your granddad.

Oh... Duh!

I know it's just a browser - I had a good day at work and I'm just in a light-hearted mood. I was referring to the fact I always spring to IE's defense against the people who do it down with no reason. I'm the first to go with the 'it's just a browser line'; there are enough to choose from.

Today Firefox, tomorrow Chrome, the day after this Java Princess fights to the death defense of IE9
