I don’t think they’re the worst sounding engine, but they do sound weird. I always thought someone at Nissan was trying to get a tone that sounded good to the driver, and didn’t care how the artificial deep-yet-hollow noise came across outside the car.

... Yes. I even proofread it!

Probably best you didn’t.

To the Jeep owner, try taking it to CarFax. Seriously, it’s free and only takes about 30 minutes. They base their prices on what they can get at auction, not KBB. As such, their prices are wildly different than most dealers. Around 2012 I took in my old 93 Civic EX coupe. 5-spd, 105k-ish miles... and a blown motor. It

I bought my first at 23 (Ok, it wasn’t brand new. 1 year old so the first guy took the depreciation hit). Spent a year and a half after college saving every penny I could, lived in a tiny apartment, no cable, internet (and I’m a web developer), or cell phone, and ate way too much ramen and cheap pizza, but damnit, I

They need to run the ICC over to VA, and connect it to 28. It’s ridiculous that there are no crossings over the Potomac for 40 miles outside the Beltway.

Car manufacturers are going about this all wrong. A built-in screen will always look outdated the older the car is. Too small/large/dim/low resolution, and interfaces that are slow to respond compared to the latest phones. What they need to do is remove their screens and provide a spot with wireless charging,

It could be worse.

I’ve always though the ZDX was one of the better looking crossover “coupes”. That’s not saying I like or would ever consider getting it, but it had a fairly wide, aggressive stance and looks much better than BMW’s and Mercedes’ abominations. These pics and the color really don’t do it justice. It’s a fair price for

Yeah, it was 32k miles. It had sat for a long time, but the used car lot it was at had given it a full tune up and it ran fine. The only 2 issues I found were the driver’s side power seat adjustments didn’t work and the top was stuck and wouldn’t go down. They had repainted the top half due to sun damage. They guessed

No offense meant, I just thought it sounded funny that brake lines were little things. I’ve got a 72 Vette. Well aware of the old car “what little thing is going to break this time” driving. :)

For an 02, that sounds like a good deal to me. From what I’ve seen at that mileage and price, you’re usually looking at 98-99's. The fixes made in 2000 addressed a ton of issues that the earlier ones had.

True, the C5 will just take your money in large chunks. Honestly, there were very few times I got my car out of the shop for under $2k. I loved my old C5 and plan to get another, but I’m doing so fully aware what the maintenance costs are.

I’ve been sticking to under 70k miles when looking. Admittedly, that would be really low for the average car, but there are a lot of garage queen Vettes out there. I put 130k on my 98. By 100k the synchros in 1st and 3rd were on their way out. I also had the harmonic balancer explode around 80k, resulting in a ton of

Call me old fashioned, but I like the little things like brake lines to be reliable.

I’ve actually been looking at C5 vert 6-spd’s for a a few months (I had a 98 coupe for 12 years and miss it). To find one with decent mileage, you’re looking closer to $15k. For sub $10k, I’d recommend a C4. I took one for a test drive a few years ago, 88-ish triple black convertible with 32k miles for $6k. It’s still

Squinty eyes look > gouged eye sockets look

I was talking to a mechanic friend a few years ago, and he said a common problem he runs across is people using anti-seize on their lug nuts so they’ll be easier to remove later if they need to put on the spare. It doesn’t matter how tight you torque down, if there is anti-seize on it, it will work itself loose.

An angry face just doesn’t fit a tiny, low power hatchback. They needed more of Neon’s happy face.

Swap in a hood and front bumper from an MS6, engine and trans from an MS3, and have a blast.
