Best Doc: America
Best Animated Feature: Fox News Benghazi Fire
Best Editor: Dick Cheney

The rate at which Gone Girl's glow was snuffed out is still astonishing to me. The cinematography, screenplay, music, acting, direction, all of its compotents were stellar. The film was one of the few adult movies that did well in the box office AND garnered critical acclaim. Socially the movie is important because so

Grammy's have acknowledged Vampire Weekend and Arcade Fire, which is decent enough, but I think St. Vincent's win was heart warming. Everything else about the Grammy's was disgusting, I thought Taylor Swift and Beyonce were the two most important pop musicians of the last two years.

This is probably the best Dylan has ever sounded in a long time, vocal wise at least.

Best description of Modern Dylan comes from Greg Proops describing a recent live concert: "It was like hearing Edgar Allen Poe sing country music."

Read the book, I thought it might be Narnia garbarge but then I saw Joanna Newsom liked it and gave it a whirl. Probably one of the only fantasty novellas I have ever thoroughly enjoyed.

Thank you for calling this out! It's not that I'm ready to look deeper into any sort of editorial agenda I will simply call it lazy rough draft writing. Why not nix the whole stage direction exerpt of crying and just let the reader attune for themselves what Bjork was saying seemed sincere and pained?

AV Club, congratulations! You managed to fuck up a review as badly as the review on Neko Case's The Worse Things Get…
Comparing it to Yeezus? While also quoting the same article where Bjork is frustrated with music writers casting her as a supporting player in her own album? That is flat out absurd. The complaints

The Comedy is a truly gem demonstrating how great an actor Tim Heidecker is as well as featuring a song by one of my favorite artists, William Basinski.

I've written this essay multiple times over in my head after properly digesting Garden State and Little Miss Sunshine, but now I'm not so sure that this critique of an indie aesthetic remains relevant. Outisde of the festival circuit and On-Demand where can indie movies about middle class adults getting their shit

As an American who was still in grade school during 9/11, I think Moore was as good as any entry into documentary filmaking. After viewing more documentaries as the years go by, it's shocking how rudimentary Moore's filmaking is, and the inclusion of the authorital voice is rarely ever a good idea.

Might just bother to go to Bonnaroo to see them live, a dream I have had for a very long time. I was in Atlanta when they came last year, but I just blew it and I'm not ready to wait another 4+ years.

Yo La Tengo's 2013 Fade was terrific but the band's sound is amorphous so they are one of the few "indie" bands to have remained exciting and hard to peg down. I think Phil Elverum (Mount Eerie) is one of the only other indie stalwart to accomplish that feat. Really looking forward to Sauna, Clear Moon is a

They have a new release coming out this year too, first one without Chris Walla which means it has a chance of actually being better than okay!

Out of the three artists listed, Belle & Sebastian have definitely put out the superior record. The Decemberists and Sleater-Kinney's new releases sound exactly like how you would expect, Girls in Peacetime is practically experimental for the band and marks a stylistic departure from their recent output.

You're right but I think Beach House and Fiery Furnaces transcend the boy/girl duo, whereas I was talking bands that seemed to be exclusively defined by that and not known for much more.

I am, but not because its an Allen movie but because it's a Joaquin Phoenix movie.

What a shite band born out of the duo boy & girl pairing the White Stripes made popular. Mates of States are awful too, the only decent male/female duo is probably Raveonettes.

My knowledge on the British television market is sparse to none, but I just wanted a platform to mourn this loss. Seriously the show is the only sitcom to take the Seinfeld horrible people formula and make something unique and biting. So many beautiful English actresses too, Dobby is a dream.

Going miss Peep Show the most, probably one of the most perfect sitcoms.
