This exactly thing with the Guardian happened to me! When I googled it a week or so ago, I didn't see anybody commented about it, so I thought I was the only one. Best part, you could loot the dragon skull, after the cutscene!

I'd buy this day one... Xenosaga is one of my favorite franchises. I was so disappointed when they cancelled the last few games. If Xenosaga HD only came out on a certain console, I'd even buy that console just for the game.
