If you don’t like cars the way I like cars, you aren’t an enthusiast.

Will Pep Boy’s have the ability to troubleshoot & repair simple EV technology?

I think I saw the same video. There was one by Wendover Productions on YouTube about it that was very informative. Basically, JIT was only a part of “The Toyota Way”, but was the one that most manufacturers focused on implementing, while ignoring the significant corporate (and national) cultural methods that Toyota

In essence yes.  As a supply chain manager it’s not been a very fun year...

I saw a video that addressed this recently. That is the problem with JIT production if you follow it absolutely strictly without proper buffers for critical parts.

A million stars to you. Especially true on the ‘good luck finding an un-modded VW from this era’ comment. These are the Euro fanboy equivalent of pre-2001 Civics. They were an economy car that happened to be fun to drive and had strong aftermarket support. Any survivor now is either a modified example someone

Being a reformed VW fanboy, it’s funny to see some of the first comments here. Some answers for the culturally uninformed:

Replacing their wiper blades. I see so many cars around here with the wiper blades peeling apart, barely able to remove water from the window.

Did you know you should never reuse cotter pins? Especially when it secures the castle nut that holds the brake drum, wheel, and tire on a Beetle rear axle?

The drill method doesnt always get oil all the way to the top of the pushrod. As a technician we would run the vehicle with the valve covers off to verify oil at rockers. If you have oil which you will because you have 40 psi then it's fine. I've had dozens of engines apart or replaced with junk yard units that took

I got top bunk.

Just curious, did you have more fun off-roading or diagnosing what damage you had done?

I love this. Tracy has recruited both you and Mercedes into a band of merry bandits for his ill-conceived adventures. This is what this site really needed.

Or maybe people just spent their stimmies on long-overdue maintenance items for their cars?

Thanks for clarifying. DT is probably my favorite writer on the site right now.

I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before someone here chimes in with the “I’m not driving anything less than 4000lb or older than 3 years death trap. To them I say STAY HOME.

Even in the day, and I was there, nobody thought the 2nd gen Golf was better looking than the original. They kept the OGG going because it was plain old better looking than the following generation(s).

So it’s less “Bitch Basket” and more “Bitchen’ Basket!”

(VR6) Soul Meets (Cabrio) Body? It’s good he swapped out the grille so it doesn’t look like it has Crooked Teeth. And, really, any small car with just enough power? I would follow that into the dark.
