When the author of the article responds to you on how you were incorrect, maybe he was offended?

I suppose you have a good point there at the end. Fair enough!

If your definition of "semantics" is "a very real and distinct difference", then yes, we can call it semantics.

If I am forced to purchase an X1 with a Kinect, the Kinect will never leave the box.

Listening to their customers BEFORE realizing their sales are going into the crapper?

Well, that would be innovative to Microsoft...

Simply because someone does not want to be bilked for $100 over something they won't use does not mean they do not work.

For people like me, yes, both my wife and I make very good livings, it is something called "principles".

Your initial post stated Microsoft was "listening to people's concerns". That is not true. They are listening to the fact that their sales were being negatively affected.

While both are listening, only one is accurate. Hint: it is not what you postulated in your initial post.

"This policy shift changes nothing except that now some who weren't considering getting the device are now considering getting the device."

People like me. I have zero need, want or desire to have the new Kinect in my home, and this was BEFORE he whole PRISM fiasco. Now that I don't even need to plug the Kinect in?

The "murdered you" thing is fairly recent and I'm not sure that I like the character change.

You'll notice Wal-Mart was the last business named and not the first, yes?

Additionally, I was not using the other businesses as defense, but as inclusion of indictment. You might want to learn reading comprehension before you jump, both feet first, into a mudpuddle, Junior.

I agree that they need some fresh ideas.

"Voice commands, awareness of your location in the room for kinect voice support, some basic gesture support for commanding units."

None of which I want, so why would I want a Kinect in the X1?

I ave massive interest in the X1 but ZERO interest, want, need or desire for the new Kinect.

Kind of just blew your argument out of the water.

The problem is that you're making a declarative statement based on opinion. That kind of doesn't work.

If you were bright, you'd ask the same questions of place like Best Buy, (now-defunct) Circuit City, Wal-Mart, etc...

But, you didn't. Hence: not bright.

Are we done here?

You're not that bright, are you?

My wife wont be happy about it, but I'm with you!

Game changing? It was wonky when it worked. The Kinect changed nothing. I have one. I used it for a few months. Now, it hasn't been used since February. I wouldn't call that "game-changing".

Same. Now that the Kinect does not even need to be removed from the box, I will get one.

"Just about everyone" and "it's common knowledge" are both logical fallacies, and, as such, render your argument fallacious.
