I think what he's getting at is that only games that are MMOs or FPS pvp (CoD and their ilk) will require the pay-to play model.

I believe, when discussing the PS+ for the PS4, they mentioned paying for the year or monthly. Although, it would be a better value to pay for the full year: less dollars per month breakdown.

I think that both Sony -and- Microsoft would be wise keeping their respective "this gen" systems going. What are there? Tens of millions of current gamers/users? I'd be happy to wager that most (50%+1) won't be upgrading to the next gen or abandoning completely this gen.
