@im.thatoneguy3: I agree completely. I have the same dislike for The Event. Don't personally care for any of the characters (and obviously there's no actual story either). SGU started that way too, although now I have started to actually like a few of them...

@Sunwind: Give Misfits a try first. It's a TV show about a bunch of 'chavs'. You start hating every one of them, but by episode 2/3 you love them all (well still hate them a little too...)
