Wow, I didn’t realize people took vacuum cleaners in to get repaired for a broken belt. I’ve been replacing them myself since I was a kid. I don’t know if this is a result of ingenuity or being poor.

It seems like you could get a benefit if you put the mortgage on a credit card that you only use for that purpose. Not taking the physical card anywhere and not using the card online would mitigate most risk of fraud. The chance that anything would happen to that account that would necessitate significant changes…
This was my thought as well. I think it would be more impressive if the candidate already knew the mission statement and how their position contributes to it. Perhaps if they were able to state what they know and then follow it up with an interesting question, they'd really have something.
Unless a job search expert can chime in and say otherwise, I think this is VERY good advice.
I even let it go to VM 90% of the time when it's someone I know. Same, mid 30's, hate the phone, prefer typed communication.
I understand where your heart is and agree with the sentiment, but I can see Google's possible reasoning. I'm a "power user" but only have Google Apps on a domain I rarely use and only signed up back when it was free. I Google services for pretty much every personal need. I'd assume that Google knows most of their…
While this may work, I find a thick rubber band to work very well and I'm more likely to have those in the kitchen junk drawer.
This is a good point. I'm going to start the habit of whitelisting my favorite sites, like LH.
Same here. I switched to uBlock after the last LH post and found that it made some sites I visit not load, so I had to switch back to ABP.
I also foresaw this article when I saw Eric declare how much he hates VirtualBox on Twitter, lol!
So fellow Lifehackers, who has used Google Domains and how have you found it compared to other services?
In summary: ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I've been using Windows 8 since it came out.
I believe all Helium is doing is using the ADB hook to backup and restore things, which is why there are certain items it can't touch. Helium is obviously easier to use for most people than ADB.
This is really good advice, depending on your situation. I have quit two jobs in the past 3 years. The first one I quit because I had another job lined up. The most recent job I quit because I had grown to dislike the work and am in a fortunate situation to take on personal projects while seeking new employment.
Just thought I'd throw this out there since I was doing some password maintenance. I originally used the IsLeaked tool when this was posted. I tried the other tools and notice they don't give you any info on the password. I like how IsLeaked gives you the first two characters of the leaked password. This helped me…
It doesn't matter who does it first, it matters who does it best. If you think you can do it better than they have, you should still pursue it. Worst case scenario, you gain some knowledge from the project.
Try installing Merlin's firmware. I've been using it for my N66U and now my AC68U. He builds it off of Asus's firmware, so it can have some of the same bugs, but he's very dedicated to improving on their firmware and pushes frequent updates.
As others mentioned, IP Webcam. I use IP Cam Viewer for my client. Copied from my other post:
I have a similar setup. I bought a Foscam camera (important because of infrared lights!) and have it mounted on the wall above the crib. I use IP Cam Viewer for Android as my viewing client and have it installed on my phone, my wife's Moto X, and her old Note II. Since she got the Moto X, the Note II has been…
