@zolielo: I found that out independently a few days ago. I was going to suggest this as a tip.

"You are coming to a sad realization, deny or allow."

I've tried a few backup programs to easily backup my thumb drive, but it seems that they always choke when backing up portable firefox because portable FF holds some exclusive locks on files.

Adding perfume to paint does nothing to remove the volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emmited as the paint dries. A mid-range consumer respirator rated for VOCs would greatly reduce your exposure to smell and VOCs instead of just covering them up. You can buy a half-face organic vapor respirator for $15.

"Just an idea, but if you use PortableFirefox and foldershare, I'd bet that you could sync entire profiles that way"

"Windows and Macintosh only"

"you are most likely entitled to up to a year extra of warranty"

Actually, Floydpink, if you re-read #2 I'm sure you'll see that it's the author's friends who smoke, not the author(s).

bang commands can be a quick shortcut, too. Some of them are outlined on this page. Not mentioned on that page is "![cmd]", which re-executes the last command line that started with [cmd].

I don't think this is new to Vista. EFS has been available since Windows 2000.

I used to use folders and special filenames but that didn't scale too well.

I'll continue to use XP until Microsoft end-of-life's it. By that time I should be able to get Vista with SP2 already slipstreamed onto the install CD.

That is a trick used by spammers to confirm they hit a live address.

"1) If you run VM server, and after that "EMULATE" any windows app, you need to have a licensed copy of the app to legally do so."

We use VMWare in our development environment. We have dozens of VMs running various flavors of Windows, Linux, BSD, and SunOS. We also run some of our multi-server environments on VMs for development purposes, which is great, because after you trash a server you can just revert it to happier times.

"One thing to add is that people should be using an encryption program such as Truecrypt in the first place for their sensitive data."

Regarding the shoebox-on-fire scenario, let's see if we can drop some science (hopefully not of the bogus variety) on the subjetc:

"Instead of the standard 10W-40 you might be able to find 0W-50 or better!"

The CustomizeGoogle extension has this built in.

"In the spirit of "Domestic Friday" does anyone know how to get little dings and dents out of stainless?"
