In the pantheon of bad ideas, this one *still* deserves special recognition. If there's a need for this, the market will adopt it just as it has for hundreds of other online services. The notion that the government has either a role, right or expertise to create this is nonsense.

@zakany001: infmom said, "I have a very nice antique chest of drawers that's about the same size [as the plastic drawers]" so I'd still tend to guess that the small plastic feet would be a better (and cheaper) option than having to elevate it several inches on an iron stand. And since the chest is taller than it is

@zakany001: I was under the impression that infmom was saying they had an antique to go alongside the pedestal sink, not an antique AS the sink vanity. But in the meantime, due to cat pee, they were using the plastic thing.

@infmom: If you get tired of waiting out the cat and want to move the antique in there, you could use something like the items at the top of this page:

@Rich DiBuo: Out shower, built in 2007, has subway tiles. Those have been around for a century or so.

Having been a croupier for 8 years, slots make up a whole lot of our revenue! Scary thing is most machines have an "autoplay" feature, put your money in and the machine plays itself!

Slightly OT, but PicPick and other screen capture programs will take a scrolling shot if the logos of which services they support are all on the same page.

It's a cool project, but I'd only do it for a sentimental box, such as Dad or Granddad's toolbox. I just bought a very sturdy, roomy plastic box, with an internal tray, waterproof seal, metal clasps and ruler, for $20 at Wal-Mart. Oh, and it doubles as a sturdy step:

@shufflemoomin: I think that would be awesome, actually. That's what I meant when I initially said, "Or will they somehow have both?". I think having a charge port in addition to the standard Apple port would be quite an innovation. Even if the micro-USB didn't offer any data functionality, it'd be nice to know

@Fuzz: LOL!! And it's available in any color I want, as long as it's white. ;-)

While normally Apple's idiosyncracies seem pointless, this is one where I can actually see the advantage of their proprietary connector. Specifically, there's an unbelievable universe of accessories, connectors and gadgets out there specific to their 30-pin connector. Far more so than any other phone, Apple docks

Abandoned buildings in a city where the average single family home sells for over $1 million. CRAZY.

@drongch: drongch said, "For someone who is seen as holding fast to correctness, it is your brand that you're advocating which so far is letting you down."

@tidymaze: Emergencies and large expenses are exactly what insurance is for. It's why nobody sells "hunger insurance" — hunger is a predictable risk of known expense.

@drongch: You said, "while you raise a good point, the discussion with the vet will probably distill your lengthy discourse by the one question: 'Are you insured?' "

@tidymaze: I don't want to be presumptuous, but I'm assuming that means you agree with me, right? :-) Specifically, that insurance would probably be a good option for you because — given the opportunity to save your pet's life, and assuming the pet could expect a good quality of life, you'd spend whatever it took to

@Dougith: Excellent videos, thanks! Love Reason.tv.

@Jason: Original FCC Charter:

First off, kudos to Whitson on a thorough and well-written summary of the net neutrality issue.
