Why do you think the interface won't update to match the new hardware? My ford Sync updates all the time. I have connected it to no less than 4 models of the iPhone. Plus, the interface is lifted from iOS, so it would update along with the device.

I'm willing to bet that the majority of people who can afford a Volvo use an iPhone.
