I didn’t opine on unions in general but overall I truly dislike what they have become in the U.S. The form of unions in Europe under the European Trade Union Confederation is far superior in my opinion.

I have to say, I was surprised with how simple Koenigsegg’s process is for assembling a harness. The team has a vehicle’s harness outline printed on a big sheet of paper taped to a large board.

There’s THIS....and then there’s the rest of Jalopnik. Hard to believe this is on the same site. Thanks for the awesome posts Mr. Tracy. One of the only reasons I keep coming back.

1.5mi is a quick scooter ride to class. That wouldn’t be too bad! $1200 for an apartment is pretty cheap

My wife and I went back and forth on that we went with the EV instead of the PHEV. Hyundai ioniq. They were pretty much the same price all said and done ($150/month). The reason we chose not to go with the PHEV is that for all intents and purposes, the EV does everything we need it to do, without ever burning a drop

What’s wrong with “is that your car?”

This is a silly argument. A Ford Ranger super cab was 204 inches long with a 125 inch long wheelbase. A Maverick has a 200 inch length and a 121 inch wheel base. If you made a regular cab Maverick it would most likely be even shorter than a regular cab Ranger.

Wrong.

There’s a lot of similarity there - especially in terms of believing they can discern minute differences in quality, which when tested, don’t hold up. Plenty of tests where “wine experts” failed to discern “cheap” from “quality” wines. There’s software to let you A/B test audio files of different types/qualities. I’m

Audiophiles are only surpassed in insufferability by oenophiles (wine) and javaphiles (coffee)....

I go out there on random weekends all summer long. I’ll even make an effort to pop out on a random weekday leading up to this Saturday. However, this coming Saturday? No. It’s not fun sitting in a fucking traffic jam for hours. Plus this:

Since Subaru’s system for all of that is camera based, they essentially would be installing cameras that use only half of their abilities. Subaru probably determined that cost v benefit didn’t really make sense and that all the forward-based stuff wouldn’t really be missed by the enthusiasts who want a manual car

This is how Subaru does it with all their manuals. If I had to guess it’s a bean counter situation where the cost to federalize the MT is offset by not including eyesight.

Artillery piece, tractor, truck, bus.

It sounds similar to the Prius “e-CVT”, which just uses the electric motors and a planetary gearset with a differential to control the final drive ratio. It’s sort of like a tank transmission, and doesn’t use any kind of pulleys/belts, it’s all gear-driven.

It might come as a shock to you, but there are plenty of people who don’t have $2500 bucks laying around for stuff like this.

Maybe they don’t have the 3k to pay out of pocket for the new battery? I guess they could take out a subprime payday loan for the battery. Nope, I’d just sell it.

if you track the concept to production of the santa cruz, it went from an extended cab to a solid 4-door variation. because the take rate of 2 seat trucks are abysmal, but the take rate of 4-seat trucks is spectacular.

ulating the gearbox is a good first step.
