J1772 is the US universal plug, and uses the same protocol as the tesla for AC charging. The adapters go either way and just bridge the wires to the right connections. EU uses Mennekes, which again is the same protocol.

Those of us who have been promoting EVs for decades had hopes early that the market would simply adopt the elegant and powerful Tesla Supercharger connector as the standard. Elon Musk supported the idea by offering patent-free use of the technology.

Cars are depreciating assets. Buy the cheapest thing you can and bank the rest that you saved. Invest it in mutual funds. Compound interest is your friend.

The best advice for depreciating luxury items is this: if you can’t afford to pay cash, you can’t afford that car. Anything more than a $5k car is luxury.
