I prefer old school square backed wagons too but I’m just happy it is wagon instead of another crossover.

Why wouldn’t they eventually put a charger at every space? As EVs go mainstream apartment owners are going to have to add charging if they want to attract renters. It is already happening in higher-end apartments today as you acknowledge with your comment about yuppie high rises.
Does it help if you call it a wagon instead of crossover? The EV6 is 1 inch taller than my Jetta Sportwagen
Nice to see a sporty EV WAGON!!!
I get it - you want Ford to make a truck just for you. This truck isn’t for you if you need to tow 5,000 lbs. It is for people like me that don’t need anything more capable than a Ford Escape but want a place to throw dirty and wet gear AND want the better handling and fuel economy of a unibody vehicle.
This is the same method the Motorcycle Safety Foundation teaches in their beginning riding course.
My wife got a real world 26 -27 driving 70 mph on the highway with her 4- cylinder Ranger. 20 mpg is the same highway mileage as my parent’s 1993 E-150 conversion van.
That is why the Maverick is styled like the Bronco Sport not the Escape or Focus. A lot of people doing those activities are driving a Crosstrek, RAV4, or CRV today so they aren’t going for a “macho” look. (At least here in the Pacific Northwest)
I think the Maverick is for someone that doesn’t need any more off-road capability than forest roads but wants somewhere to put things like:
You can get a regular cab full-size truck from Ford, GM, and Chevy. They are 3% of sales. You used to be able to get a regular cab in mid-size truck but nobody bought them and they were dropped during the last round of redesigns. You can still get extended cabs - and nobody is buy them. (14% of sales) Automakers don’t…
The 4.0 in the Ranger got the exact same fuel economy as the 4.2L F-150. I don’t see much point of buying a compact truck that gets the same full economy as a full size truck.
Why won’t the Maverick be considered for people hauling? It is a Bronco Sport with a bed added on. It can haul just as many people as a Bronco Sport or Escape and it has a place to throw muddy mountain bikes or wet paddling gear.
A 2000 Ford Ranger 4-cylinder was rated to tow 2200 lbs and the 4,000 with the 3.0L V6.
The Maverick is a new segment of truck smaller and cheaper than the Ranger or any of the rest of the “mid-size” trucks. They are looking for buyers that want a truck to haul their family around town but don’t want to spend $35K for a crew cab Ranger.
Automakers no longer have to sell smaller vehicles for CAFE. Since 2008 every vehicle has it’s own fuel economy target set based on footprint (track x wheelbase) and vehicle type (car or light truck). At the end of the year each manufacturer gets their own CAFE calculated based on the actual mix of vehicles they sold…
Regular cabs make up 3% of truck sales. Extended cabs add another 14%. This is why the Maverick will be 4 door only.
Yamaha dealership in Flint, Michigan about 1998.
Elizabeth: PLEASE don’t put the winner of the race in your headline. This race didn’t broadcast until 11:30 PM where I live - which means I was going to watch it this morning. Now I know the winner before watching the start.
You have that backwards. 3rd party resellers can’t mark up an iPhone because anyone can order exactly what they want from the manufacturer.
Charging isn’t limited to just Electrify America - there are more than a dozen charging networks with DCFC.
