Yes, the tweet was illegal but why would Tesla care? They successfully defeated the unionization effort.   Years later the union board has ruled what they did was illegal but there is no punishment for the company and they don’t have to re-run the union vote.

Europe’s approach has shown there is no need to ban ICE vehicles.   Steadily increase fuel economy requirements and make the fines high enough that automakers can’t just pay them.   Do that and vehicle fleet will shift to PHEVs and EVs.

Actually, automakers were ahead of schedule meeting the “Obama” rules when Trump rolled them back. (The rules where actually were written in the Bush era but enacted in Obama’s first term. It takes years to write emission standards)

1st Gear. I guess nobody remembers 2009 - a recession where the US government did almost nothing to stimulate the economy or help it’s citizens. Today we have a shortage of cars because production is down but demand is still normal. In 2009 my regional Toyota dealer had about 20% of their normal number of cars on the

More Tesla cost-cutting that they are trying to pass off as technology.

Do any of those countries need to deliver mail to the bottom of the Grand Canyon by mule or into remote settlements in Alaska? All of the nations you listed have much higher population densities than the USA.

The USPS can’t be profitable and fulfill it’s mandate to deliver mail to the entire country. Yes, you could cut it back to only routes that are profitable but then what is the point - that is what UPS and Fed Ex are for.

Nope not a business either. It is an independent agency fulfilling a specific roll. Other independent agencies: CIA, EPA, FDIC, FCC, NASA, SEC.  Nobody expects them to make money.

Why stop with eliminating the senate? We should go a step farther and switch to a parliamentary system of government.

The USPS is an independent agency of the Executive branch.   It is not a company.

The USPS is not a company. It is a government service mandated by the US Constitution.

My comment was poorly worded.

The article did not say why Reif didn’t start work at Tesla as planned.

China no longer requires automakers to partner with a Chinese company. Tesla has the first 100% foreign owned auto plant in China.

China is the largest economy in the world - they passed the USA in back in 2014 based on GDP PPP. It was only a matter of time considering the huge difference in population between the USA and China.

Try it on a E-150 Econoline. The front 2 are easy to reach from the hood. The rears are easy to reach from inside after removing the doghouse. The 4 - in the middle? You have to jack up the car, remove the wheels and go through the wheel wells. It will take 3 extensions with 2 swivel joints to get around all the crap

The Goldwing switched to EFI in 2001 when the 1800cc version came out.

I’d say I’m in the normal distribution. My understanding is 15-20 years is the normal life for a Prius battery.

My 2005 Prius was 12 years old with 147K miles when I sold it.

How old are these “old” Prii? A Prius is a very common taxi were I live and they reportedly do more than 300K miles on the original battery. I’ve had two 2nd gen and my parents have a 3rd gen. All went past 10 years on the original batteries.
