Buell eventually got a Rotax liquid-cooled engine so it wasn’t impossible - it just happened too late. The bigger issues was the V-Rod engine. That engine was originally suppose to be for Buell. Harley took over the project and turned it into the V-Rod engine which was too big to be used in a sport bike.

I think it is because Mercedes needs to sell every EV they can in Europe to avoid EU CO2 fines. They just barely squeaked by in 2020 and EVs and PHEV counted twice in the fleet average. For 2021 that double count goes away so if nothing else changes Mercedes needs to sell double the number of EVs.

Launching 10 models on their own? - not going to happen.

EBR did not go bankrupt because Hero didn’t pay their bills.

Defeat devices are as old as emission testing. Every major manufacture has been caught using them over the years. Just a few examples:

Cars produce more pollution than just CO2. There is CO, NOx, and PM. They release these in city centers where it builds up and causes smog which causes lung diseases like asthma.

That depends. CHAdeMO charging as Vehicle to Grid (V2G) built in. Tesla and CCS do not.

No, they are charging massive amounts for the power they did deliver.

It is not normal to choose an electricity provider in the USA. In most places there is one power company that builds out the grid and provides power. This provider is granted a monopoly by the state. However, since they have a monopoly they are not allowed to set their own prices. Prices are set by a state utility

Why? If it is related to the emission scandal - every major auto company has been caught cheating on emissions.

Our plants are no different. We check temperatures coming into the plant. If you have a fever you get checked for COVID. If you test positive you get sent home for two weeks with pay along with everyone in your station. If you feel sick and decided to stay home you burn sick days.

Did they upgrade to a heat pump for heating.

I watched the first two episodes - does it get better?    It seemed very silly and forced to me.   Nothing to do with the idea of having to survive on an island.

Could be worse. The first time (and last time) I used an oil change place my engine started to seize at 80 mph on the highway. When my dad and I drained the oil after the tow home we found it only had 2 quarts of oil in it (spec is 4.5). I didn’t save my receipt and the shop manager claimed he had never seen me before

It cannot be charged with a plug.   It is a series hybrid with a small (1.5 kWh) battery to act as a buffer between the engine and electric motor.   In most driving the engine will be running to power the motor.   In slow stop and go it can move on battery power alone.

No it isn’t. The key is the battery size and the e-Power only has a 1.5 kW battery. That battery acts as a buffer to allow the e-Power to collect regen energy and to provide power for acceleration but the engine runs most of the time the vehicle is moving.

VW will likely sell part of the company on the stock exchange.

Scania is part of Traton - VW’s new name for the old VW Truck and Bus. It was spun off in 2018 but VW retained 90% ownership.

Yes. The Mach-e and ID.4 are targeted straight at the Model Y. Both are the first time Tesla is competing with a clean sheet EV design.

True. They also dropped from 31% 2019 market share in Europe to 13% in 2020. VW now leads with 25%. Europe shows Tesla isn’t immune to competition.
