I’m skeptical of diet apps and calorie counters due to struggling with disordered eating as a teenager, but this app almost got me about a year and a half ago. I only didn’t get into it because of the cost.

I tried Noom a few years ago, like 2018, and found it completely unhelpful. The coach did nothing to help me. Anytime I reached out for advice or motivation they would just send me to pdf’s I recieved when I signed up. I also said in my intake that I needed help with accountability so if I didn’t log anything in for

You are not doing anything wrong. At all.
I’m gonna share my experience in case any of it might help you.

I tried a Noom free trial last year at this time.

Like anything, everyone will find different ways that work best for them. Calorie counting is one of those things that helps me because it makes my mindful of how much I am eating, but I also don’t get wrapped up in it where any deviation feels like failure. Some days I’m just gonna eat that half a pizza.

lol, what the heck.

Fun fact: which color is more expensive depends on where you live. Lots of places charge more for brown eggs because of that “healthier” implication.

Yay! I’m so glad.

I’ve used chopsticks into the screw holes, again gluing them into place. I cut the chop into short pieces, glue the hole ad the piece, drive them in with a hammer so they’re flush with the top of the hole, let them dry.

This list is pretty fantastic - there’s a few in here I’ve used before, but also a lot of new stuff.  Thanks for sharing!

I appreciate this article. The thing is, I would like someone authoritative that I trust to simply tell me what the fuck to buy. A year or so ago some website or video I trusted told me to buy Di Napoli whole pealed canned tomatoes, and boom, now I just buy that shit in bulk. It’d be lovely if I saw that for olive oil

Does the dowel pin thing really work? Can you screw something back into it? I would be concerned that the dowel just start rotating in the old hole and thus not really doing anything (even though it’s glued in there). Not to mention you might have a smaller hole than your dowel pin. I guess you could drill it out and

Damn I can’t use dryer sheets and now I can’t use Pam.

They do have sprays now that are straight oil without the lecithin, you just have to look at the ingredients on the back. A good indicator, actually, is that the cans will be smaller and more expensive ( :-\ )

You know what frustrates me more than the nebulous “resort fees”? Overnight parking fees.

As a general rule i’ve learned with nonstick pans it’s best to cook only foods at a low temp. Primarily eggs and things i’m going to brown at very very low temps/a low flame.

Not here to argue with the science or the advice. Just to say that I have never not used spray oil on my non-stick pans (decades). When I’m done I wipe them out with a wet paper towel. I’ve never had an issue. I don’t know if it shortens the life of the pan. I’ve never kept track.. I’ve never said “damn.. this pan is

Now that is something I definitely didn’t know. I guess I’ll stick (no pun intended) to olive oil spray now. Thanks Claire.
