I suspect many of the stars come from locals who don’t want more people to move here; it’s a longstanding tradition to hype our worst qualities. Not that the complaints are unwarranted, of course.

I always appreciate the interviews with old people where they talk about eating whatever they want. If you’re over 30, the dietary recommendations probably changed at least once in your life, by 100, you probably don’t trust any of it anymore.

Rent a car at your own risk. Traffic sucks and parking is expensive. If you do rent a car, keep nothing behind when you park it someplace. Leaving a bag in the passenger seat is the easiest way to end up with a broken window and a missing bag.

just drive to Vancouver BC

It might be tough to hit all of the great breweries our city has to offer - consider visiting a place like Chuck’s Hop Shop (two locations) or The Beer Junction - both of these places have about 40 taps and many different cans and bottles to consume in house or bring home with you (be sure you don’t miss Fremont, Holy

First, say it with me: “Pike Place Market, not Pike’s Place Market.”

Biscuit Bitch serves great biscuits & gravy (the location I go to is mostly standing room only & often crowded). Von’s 1000 Spirits is a nice place to catch a good dinner. Duke’s has some awesome chowder. Piroshky Piroshky has fantastic pastries - both savory & sweet ones. Rachel’s Ginger Beer is a great place to stop

Well sure the continous rain sucks but Seattle is not that bad as others have commented. There are some great restaurants, cusines & fun places you get to see in the city. If u get bored in the city, the places surrounding Seattle is spectacular in scenery & beauty. Mt Rainier, Olympic & Quinalt Rain Forests, the

Head to the Ballard neighborhood every Sunday for the farmer’s market that takes up a long stretch in the nicest part of Ballard. It runs year-round from 10-3, and you can get a great sense of all the local produce folks around here grow. While you’re in the neighborhood, check out Bop Street Records and chat with the

Museum of Flight is well worth the trip (Can walk onto one of the 707 based Air Force One’s that carried Eisenhower, JFK, LBJ and Nixon), along with the first flight worthy 747 and the Concorde) , you can also head up to Renton for the Boeing tour of the 737 and 787 assembly lines.

In the late spring and summer, if you don’t venture outdoors and take a drive into the Cascades for a hike, then you aren’t living. Looking for an easy hike for everyone in your family? Check out Coal Creek Trail, Franklin Falls, or simply take a stroll around Discovery Park, home of Fort Lawton, with astounding views

I went to Seattle for the first time a few weeks ago and I had the best time. I really recommend doing all of the touristy things. Go to Pike Place, Seattle Art Museum, and check out the bars and the restaurants. Shop on 6th. Take pictures with the chewing gum wall. We were lucky because it was sunny for the whole

I only stayed in Seattle for three months, but really liked the city and its attitude.

Not from Seattle but I do have a piece of advice for those who visit. Be prepared to exercise. Bring comfortable shoes.

If you want to stay in an airbnb and drive a car, avoid Capitol Hill. Parking is a major pain, even with the guest permit most hosts will provide. Parking is easier to find in nearby neighborhoods such as Cherry Hill.

When I lived in Seattle Ivars Salmon House was a favorite. Built as a replica of a Native American long house, it’s right on the water. Not downtown, so it might get missed by visitors.

Mrs Dash table blend works for many things, too. It is onion-based, and adds a good bit of taste.
