"Yet the mix of blunt sexual politics and dime-store-paperback luridness has the bracing quality of tub-brewed rotgut." where and what now?

the only intriguing thing about this show
is that i seriously can't decide whether the producers are mocking this whole phenomenon or totally endorsing it. Honestly, I have no idea, but it is just so freakish its almost cringe comedy.

soccer
Someone must have tinkered with what he said, we don't call it "soccer" here over the pond, we call it "lorries"

lot of omissions, yeah
but wild at heart and the wizard of oz were put back-to-back. very nice touch.

yikes
and now i realize i failed to mention sawbuck gamer as one of my favourite avclub features in the survey. oh boy.

the big shave
he'll probably have him do The Big Shave, it would make so much sense.

hm
i only saw the first episode, is it worth picking up?

Hungary's GDP is not only made up of Rubik's Cube sales
we also have porn. massive amounts of porn.

stay a while, stay forever!

wha?
i'm european so who are these people again?

smalltown boy
smalltown, Hungary. I was the only one buying a ticket for a special screening of Citizen Kane. moments before the screening the projectionist came down and told me to come back tomorrow, because he won't start the film with only one person watching.

do you people know that The Maltese Falcon is a typical "adaptation of the source material, not a remake"? there were two other versions filmed before from Hammett's book, in '31 and '36. I saw the earlier one and it was horrendously boring.

for the ladies
Buzzcocks: Ever Fallen In Love
The Flaming Lips: Do You Realize?

the new franz ferdinand is horrible.

did i tell you about that scene i love?

too bad…
he essentially played a broader Murray again in Yes Man, his first feature film.

i love the scene where don cheadle's character is at home with his wife and they are having a discussion about the kids, and cheadle has absolutely no idea what to do while delivering his lines, so he randomly walks around the bedroom, randomly opening boxes that are scattered all around and running his fingers on the
