We are trying to put a square on a round hole by forcing the capitalist logic of ownership of physical goods on digital goods that do not have the same properties, that have properties capable of overcoming the limitations of physical goods.
Yeah, the max fine is less than a $1 million US - I imagine Valve’s legal team has already spent more in this case on printer toner.
Valve must now also accept responsibility when users say an item on Steam caused them harm, even if it’s in beta.
