Are you able to get a reseller in your area? In the greater Toronto/Ottawa areas you can get a company like Teksavvy, which provides much more reasonable data caps with the same speeds, and often cheaper rates. There are others out there as well, depending on your area.

I'm willing to bet that it's due to some kind of technical reason, as unfortunate as it is. I've noticed that certain characters (Wario) have the capacity to lag the game if there is too much going on, and a long queue of fighters loaded in the memory. This may be compounded by certain maps, including custom.
