100% agree

Fortunately I didn’t have to drive it at all over the winter (GO Train!) I was also able to get it a garage to hide in about 6 months after I bought it.

I hear you on this. Had to get rid of my fun car because it was rusting to pieces. A previous owner drove it in winter. I had nearly 200,000km on the odometer and it had 0 mechanical issues.

Sigh. All but 3 of those are blocked in my country.

Your second paragraph is what I was thinking as well. I grabbed a 2018 new, simply because I couldn’t, (and didn’t really want to), wait the 2/3 years for the refresh. Potential buyers in 2019/2020 are much closer to the refresh, and would be more inclined to wait.

I posted another reply citing my skepticism with an electric Miata, and I completely forgot about the manual part. That’s like, one of the most important pieces of the Miata puzzle!

Isn’t driving out into the middle of nowhere to carve up some sick back roads half the point of the Miata? I’m not so sure that Random Country Town - Population 674 - has a supercharger station.

Haven’t seen this mentioned yet. It covers a small set of wildly unnecessary cars, especially when you get into the RX8 timeframe.

Seconding this. Worst car I’ve ever driven.

+1 on the armrest.

Glad someone dug up some videos of the true menace!

I rented an ND Miata when I went to Maui and it was one of the best weeks of my entire life.

I definitely put big gulp-sized drinks in mine.

I am not worthy!

Once winter is over, it’s always back to the bucket. :)

The one I go to fortunately does not have the wheel guides. You drive in, stop, and let the juices flow all over you until it’s over. Then you drive out fresh as flowers.

Edit: saw your edit

This is why you go to a “touchless” car wash, which is just a fancy power washer and soap sprayed at many different angles.

I followed this advice.
