The lights don't quite match the body. It looks like they were Photoshopped on.

Since we have some of the oldest freeways, the on ramps can be pretty short. Some on the Pasadena Freeway have stop signs right before you get on the freeway. Other freeway on ramps have metering lights to try to control traffic so you have to stop and wait three quarters of the way up the on ramp.

My parents had a Dolphin motorhome built on a Toyota truck chassis with the 22RE and an automatic. I think it was also an '87. That thing was reeaaaallly slow.

It's as if "The Little House" by Virginia Lee Burton came to life.

Pig + lipstick = pig.

We let the private sector handle that one.

If you're over New York, watch out for fighter jets. Because everyone is going to freak the fuck out if they see a plane flying over Manhattan.

The Miata's air conditioning is really effective… until it gets hotter than 85 or so. After that your just going to be warm with a lot of air blowing on you.

The hate for cars in Berkeley is palpable. I had two events to go to on Saturday, the first in SF and the later one in Berkeley. We drove to Berkeley, through its streets which are engineered to snarl traffic without regard to safety (side streets blocked off, no turn lanes, no protected left turns), with the

I want mine with an LS9 and a couple turbochargers.

I don't understand the jab at the "weak-willed West Coast media." What are they supposed to have done? Should they have used enhanced interrogation techniques on Tesla employees? Stolen a prototype from a Palo Alto bar? It's not hard to understand why people around here are rooting for Musk and his company. Success

There's no E in Concord and people who drive Escalades are more likely to live in Walnut Creek or Lafayette or Danville or San Ramon.

I think that people from the SF Bay Area consider everything south of them to be Southern California and people from LA/Orange County/San Diego consider everything north of them to be Northern California. Once a woman from Bakersfield told me she was from Northern California.

If it became necessary to deploy the parachute, how much control would the pilot have during the descent? What if the plane landed on a house or a car or a person?

If it hadn't been for the California electricity crisis (which was caused by utility company executives gaming the system to make exorbitant amounts of money for themselves) Gray Davis wouldn't have been recalled and I doubt Schwarzenegger would have been elected. Gray Davis didn't do enough to solve the crisis but

As the article's author did you also write the headline? Because what you say in this comment and the article (there is a unique specimen) seems to be contrary to the hed (you can go pick one up for $15).

It's easy to point at seemingly ridiculous projects like this and say that this is what's wrong with California's government. But really this cost less than 1¢ per California resident. So if we didn't have this project we would have saved everyone less than a penny. But say there's 100 projects like this, and we

Build an air cannon. Use it to shoot tennis balls at challengers who run through a course using large Nerf-like weapons to try to hit a bullseye suspended above your head.

Best brewery tour ever. About two hours total, 30-40 minutes to see the brewery, the rest of the time is spent hanging out in their taproom drinking all the free beer you want.

People have been saying that Bentley builds the world's fastest trucks for decades. They might as well embrace it. Bentley has always built big, heavy, ostentatious, gas-guzzling vehicles so a SUV seems right up their alley to me.
