I yearn for the time when men were men, sporty hatches were light and nimble, adjectives were adjectives and nouns were nouns (i.e. fail=adjective, failure=noun)

I guessed Mustang because I remember Ford making a big deal out of their "backwards L" suspension design when they introduced the '05.

@usa1: just make sure you opt for the heated steering wheel

It's good looking, it's RWD, and it's a product Cadillac needs in their portfolio. That said, it doesn't intrerest me a bit. Show me the Cadillac 3-series competitor!

It's a lot less terrible than the previous Aveo, but I doubt it's as good as the Daewoo Lacetti Premiere - aka Chevy Cruze

Unless it's a police cruiser, it shouldn't have lights on the a-pillars.

My thought is that this is a preview of the next Jetta and they're considering making a coupe version. The new sportwagons with the Golf VI nose and the same old rear end look kind of goofy so I bet they are going to differentiate the Jetta from the Golf more than they have in the past.

This is a car that looks at you and says "Hey you, wanna die? It'll be funnnnn…"

Does this qualify?

Nice price only because the HVAC controls are to the left of the steering wheel. A victory against passenger interference!

@Ash, 78 octane min. (MON+RON)/2: Yes, beware of tire designations such as 225/40R18 XL 92Y (stock Contis on my GTI). The XL refers to the price tag, I believe.

Keeping my first generation iPhone: $1,536.72 over two years including taxes (if taxes don't go up again)

He really wanted a Suzuki Carry, but the Metromino was as close as he could get.

@mr_dude: When CA-4 grinds to a halt (as it does daily) I'll often see a couple sport bikes whizz through doing 25-30 followed shortly after by a CHP on a Kawasaki. I'll send you video right after I get my dashcam installed. I don't know if they're going after the guys on the bikes or just trying to get where they're

@mr_dude: To catch a splitter you must be a splitter. CHP officers split lanes all the time.

In the '20s and '30s this was the style. Now these cars are really valuable – probably because they're Rolls Royces with custom coachwork

Sure, he deftly manuevers, but does he muscle for rank? Is his fuel burning fast on an empty tank? I'm not impressed unless he's going the distance.
