@thunderhorse: I really have to disagree with you on this one. Yes, $40,000 is too much for it but they are a lot cheaper than that here in the US. I'm not a fan of the restyle but the original still looks good to me. There are a lot worse looking cars on the market (Compass!). Fuel economy is about the same as a

@YankBoffin: Sounds a lot like my recent experience renting a G6 GXP except for the comfy seats. I suppose it did have ABS but I didn't test that out. Interior: crap. Steering: crap. Motor: pretty good, nice and punchy but hooked up to the wrong wheels. Also looks like a crosseyed rabbit hopped on methamphetamines.

@idesigner: My mechanic has the best labor rates: 1 six-pack of O'Douls for most jobs. I just ask for the "we came out of the same womb" discount

@Van Sarockin: I had to look up mufti and almost got sucked into a wikipedia binge. Your colorful comments are a real threat to my productivity.

What's odd to me is that the blood alcohol limit for 15 to 20-year-olds isn't zero. Here, if there's any alcohol in your blood and you're under 21 it's an automatic DUI and I'm pretty sure if you're under 18 you lose your license until you're 18.

@Ash78: They're called "Hufeisen" or something like that - "horseshoe" in German. I have them on my car and like them but to each his/her own.

I've done far too much LDS to even consider the SLC

GT3=win

Aw, I had forgot about that Fiat Dino. Let the pining resume…

Either of those suggested replacement engines would be great to swap into a 914. The 997 would be more difficult since it's liquid cooled and more deadly, especially with the addition of some forced induction.

I think my GTI's natural enemy is the Civic Si. Torquey DI turbocharched engine vs. high-revving NA engine, dual clutch flappy paddle transmission vs. conventional manual, 3 or 5 door hatch vs. notchback coupe or sedan, electronic differential lock vs. mechanical limited-slip diff (advantage Civic, unfortunately).

I know propane burns clean but the Roush website says these trucks aren't 50 state legal. Did they just not make the investment to have it CARB certified? I don't know why they would ignore such a large market. I'm sure there are tons of contractors here in CA who would love to save money on fuel and get a tax break.

@deftonesboy360: Adding "K" for kurz (short in German) to indicate a smaller version of a model is something Mercedes has been doing since the SLK I think. SLK=smaller SL, CLK=smaller CL, GLK=smaller GL

@Mike the Dog: I'm pretty sure those are actually Toyotas

@El Ojo: "There are too many mother-@#$%!ing assassins on this mother-@#$%ing parade route!

A Ford Super Duty, a trailer and a track ready Exige... and a Quattroporte for getting groceries

@acarr260: Just don't try this "feat" in any vehicle with a vinyl bench seat (e.g. my former roommate's 1970 Gold Duster). You might find yourself sliding right out the passenger side window. Although on really hot days that vinyl can be pretty sticky.

@jarque: We were so poor I wouldn't have had nothing to play with if I hadn't been born a boy.
