You know, I have to say, these "Hidden Costs" are only hidden if you lack a shred of logic.

@Naveral: I think the 360 version of it has gone to the same place as the 360 version of LOTRO that was announced at launch. Mapping the hotbar to a controller man, it's hard.

A company related to mine just bought up part of the old EA Blackbox studio in downtown Vancouver. After touring it, I can agree that EA has in fact been doing some very, very retarded things in recent years.

@Kamakazie: If not, they have artists on board that can copy that style to a T...

@excaleranth: Dude. It wasn't even a build of the game. It was a concept trailer. That means they threw it together in something else using existing assets in less than a month. Don't judge it on that, judge what the concept would have been if it had the 4 years and millions of development dollars that go into

@fourzerotwo: I can accept that, and I thank you for taking the time to converse with me on the topic at all. At least there is one point we can agree on =)

Finally, I can let out my inner Drag Queen in the private of my own home.

The problem is that all the titles you listed there are the Casual crap that, according to Ubi, is actually not losing them money.

@fourzerotwo: Our opinions on what makes a nice title evidently differ, as I would call what is widely considered to be the greatest game of the past decade (Deus Ex, as indicated in my opening post) to be a niche title. People in a decade will not be going to forums asking about MW2. The servers will be gone, and it

@BishBashRoss: Yes yes, because we all know that mainstream reviewers are not paid by the publisher at all, gamespot has certainly taught us that. After all, if you gave a AAA title a shit review, you would definitely get a review copy of the next game, right?

@KaneBaker: You'd be pleased to know that after 10 years, they've activated the nascent multiplayer code in the Thief 2 engine! You can play with your friends right now =D

@BishBashRoss: No, it makes me look like someone who recognizes that numerous severe graphical and gameplay errors are a sign of shoddy construction, not features as fanboys would prefer to hype them.

@VincentGrey: AC1 was planned as having a cross-platform online co-op mode when first announced.

Its interesting to note that when AC1 was first announced, years and years ago, it was going to be online co-op.

Well, that does it. Here we have proof that gaming as we knew it is dead. People would rather have shoddily constructed, generic, pap than a great game.

@electroshockwave: The bike was there, my bad. To clarify, the Skateboard required an entirely different form of movement and efficiently broke the entire game. He described it as working in hell when that order came down.

I had a teacher who worked for Rockstar Vancouver, this article is pretty much bang on the money based on what he told us.

I'll keep working on Infinity: The Quest for Earth. Better investment of time and resources.
