The highest end cars are already being preserved by their owners. The kind of crappy car that many of us have had to drive at one time or another deserves preservation if only to serve as a reminder of the negative effects of low wages and urban sprawl.

It’s hilarious when people go to all the trouble of burying a time capsule in the ground, only to have someone come along and open it just 50 years later. It’s not like we’re all wandering around thinking “I wonder what life was like for the unknown people in the distant unrecorded past of the 1970s.

I guess this is one of those cases where (unsurprisingly) a non-US built car is a lot cheaper to fix if you live near where it was built, rather than in the US.

I’m not okay with this.

I don’t hate touchscreens in cars... that is until they start removing tactile buttons/lever switches to be replaced by touchscreen functions.

At what point does it start to feel like you’re just paying the direct sales equivalent to a dealer markup? Prices change as the market changes, but $8k/22% in just a few short months...
