Is that totally acceptable? I'm pretty sure that's not really the code as far as attorneys go.
Here's what I think is the big question: Will you ever accept Mickey/Gus being together after that kiss? I absolutely won't, and I think the entire future of the show hinges on the writers treating that kiss appropriately.
I definitely agree, and with this show in particular it feels like it comes out of a defensive standpoint. The buzz around this show was positive, and it feels like the "kind" of show that AV Club would push hard, so I think there is pressure on the reviewer to spin it very positively. And I don't really think there's…
Oh, I agree with you 100%; that last scene was abhorrent. I just think that based on what I've seen from Apatow/etc. in the press that this is supposed to be a love story worth rooting for. And they failed miserably on that front.
I'd watch if they realize how wrong they are for each other in episode 1 and then just remain friends while they each go off on their own relationships. But I don't think that's the idea the creators are going for at all.
Do you think so? I could certainly be more onboard with this show moving forward if that was the case, but I get the feeling that we're supposed to buy into them as a love story and be rooting for them as a couple.
Everyone seems to be arguing about if either Gus or Mickey is in the wrong, but for me that misses the whole problem with this show, which is they're not good together at all right?? We've barely seen them have anything resembling fun, let alone a healthy relationship. This relationship is just not worth fighting for,…
Well, I'm really sad that Charlie died.
It's weird to me how this has become Sonia vs. "white men," when the whole issue really blew up with her making an offensive comment toward the murder of a white female character. When did men become the only ones to have a problem with what Sonia said?
Yeah, Pam in particular was awfully high and mighty about Sarah Newlin being a terrible person, and then she went ahead with just about the shittiest thing they could do.
Yeah, I mean I get the whole surrogate family stuff that a lot of shows are going for these days, but c'mon! Some people just don't deserve to make the cut at a Thanksgiving dinner… Luckily Sookie's new guy has no living relatives who might have an issue with such a dinner or want to be in attendance.
That also confused me, why did they charge by the minute? Isn't it just like take a drink and be cured?
Has anyone pointed out that Sam/Nicole's relationship is pretty ridiculous considering he got her pregnant like 3 days after his other "true love" died? Didn't he spend a long time on the run with Nicole protecting another woman's daughter, and somehow that turned into a successful relationship?
Despite all the problems with the finale and the final season as a whole, I actually really liked the choice to have Sookie's guy was a faceless random, and not shoehorn in someone from earlier in the series. That felt way more real to me than Jason having 17 kids with the girl from Alaska who we saw him spend 2 hours…
Can anyone explain why Willa Burrell was at the final scene Thanksgiving dinner? Wouldn't her being with Pam/Eric make 1000 times more sense?
Why did Eric/Pam have to pitch New Blood on some shitty infomercial? They have what is tantamount to a cure for AIDS and they're treating it like a new ab workout… But they also still run Fangtasia??? WHY?????
So how many long-term relationships started in one calendar week to end this series? Jessica/Hoyt, Jason/Bridget, Lafayette/His Vampire, Arlene/Her Vampire, Wade/Adilynn…. What a garbage final season
Completely agree.
Seems a little unfair to compare this to Dexter's final season. This show was always awful (even when it was fun), Dexter was top-notch great once upon a time.
