Depends, until DC v. Heller several major cities had handgun bans. In NYC it’s still pretty much impossible to own one. NY State’s 7 round mag limit pretty much precludes all modern handguns except the 1911...

At least here in the Bay Area, every industry has crap promotion tracks, you only ever get significant raise by getting a new job every 1-2 years.
