Oh, it is not. It’s trotted out whenever some guy decides to explain that we need to be more “nuanced” in our opinions of criminal sexual assault and that we should forgive guys who apologize because nobody’s perfect. Whenever I hear some ignorant opinion delivered in a wise, thoughtful-sounding, father-knows-best

Mansplaining has to do with men pontificating to women on topics they know little or nothing about, or less than the woman they’re explaining to knows.

The ABC interview had even worse moments:

I’ve never heard that C.K. started apologizing “a long time ago.” If he did, then he kept repeating the same behavior while apologizing for it.

Seriously? There are still plenty of headlines like that even in 2017. And it’s not exactly “historical” when you really only need to go back as far as 2016 to see even more headlines that disparage accusers.

People who make public allegations are not called “brave and a hero” everywhere. Some people call them that.

    Exactly.

How can anyone read my comment and think that part I’m upset about is that Matt would go scorched earth on someone who falsely accused him of something?

Yeah, I’d go scorched earth if I were falsely accused of something.

I see nothing unreasonable with someone saying they’d go all scorched earth IF the allegations are false.

No, because he said if it were his own reputation at stake he’d go scorched earth. No fucking balanced nuance there.

“somebody who—well, we can work with that.” vs “I would be scorched earth.”

This is horrible. I hope she can heal from this.

On first read, I thought this article was a comment. I was about to reply “super long well-written comment and worth every word.”

I moved to Maryland from California in 1981. I barely lasted a year. It was hell without Latinos. There’s no music, no culture, no food trucks, and no friends or relatives bringing homemade tamales or enchiladas to get-togethers. I don’t know how they stand it.

THANK YOU BLACK PEOPLE OF ALABAMA!

They just want to make sure you weren’t born in Eagleton.

Well, good point. I shouldn’t be judging strangers who are just minding their own business going about their lives. I just had a moment of weakness.

I didn’t know that. I’m sorry for posting from ignorance, but I’m glad I learned something from it.

You are the most solution-oriented person I’ve ever met.
