The most feminist thing a woman can do is save and invest her money instead of spending it on stuff heavily marketed toward women.

I wish visitors to the US were told that it’s not a good idea to mock the locals and their culture. It seems to be a regular pasttime among the eliter workers work visa crowd.

He told a friend of mine that he was a sex tourist in the Phillipines when he was there shooting The Year of Living Dangerously. He paid for trafficked underage women.

If a private company tried to force an employee to go to therapy or force them to not tell their therapist about something, state and federal agencies would laugh them out of existence. How did congress manage to even dream up that illegal unethical shit?

    —intentionally or not—

Force innocent people to go to therapy then force them to stop talking to their therapist. Basically brainwash them then forbid them from recovering.

Oh. My. God. Can you imagine the brain of a man who would do this to people? He would have to absolutely believe that no matter what, every person who wants a divorce is wrong. And is bad at spatial relationships.

Not sure about civil service but I think you can file an EEOC complaint. I didn’t know this until *after* I no longer worked at my old company or I would’ve done it in the first month I worked there. I found out in less than a year after we parted ways, so I met the deadline to file. And WOW does it feel great to have

There is no fucking way I’m spending money or time on a gun course. I just want to know the classifications.

Charles Manson was brutally and repeatedly raped as a child. He suffered poverty, neglect, and abuse. Most children survive that without committing horrible acts of violence as adults, but some don’t. If we as a society don’t want to produce more Charles Mansons, we need to do better at preventing abuse.

    She used the spoon backwards!

Excellent idea. The original system had “starred” commenters — commenters who were permanently ungreyed (unless they later did something that got them booted). Either writers or “starred” commenters could star other commenters, making them permanently ungreyed. That system worked incredibly well. It was a community

My husband’s grandfather was a schoolteacher in a very small town where everyone knows everyone. He was in his 90s when his grown children started to get calls from townspeople about how he’d driven on the sidewalk when he went to the bank, etc. But he refused to stop driving.

Even the “women lie about what they ate for lunch” is sexist. Fuck her, it would never fucking occur to me to lie about what I ate.

    LW1:

I mean it’s not about lady vs dude but about not automatically doubting or disbelieving people who say they are victims of sexual assault.

    And Weiner.

I think that logic ignores the implied threat in small instances of harassment. There is literally no way for the victim to know what’s coming next or how bad it’s going to get.

It’s all part of the same continuum, though.

    Now playing

It’s even common for interpreters to make up sign language instead of using ASL!
