I see him as very different. The kapos were desperately trying to save their own lives, and in many cases were forced to do the work they did. Hmmm, maybe he isn’t that different after all.

These stats! Where are you getting them from? Because in 2013 only 8% of US millionaires were blacks. That’s about a 1/3 less than their representation in the US population. A far cry from the 38% you stated.

Obviously 1st amendment rules don’t apply to private employers, but employers can’t force you to participate in a political activity. For example, they can’t tell you whom to vote for or even ask you whom you voted for. They also can’t interfere with your religion — which is the example I gave.

That language is completely unnecessary, pretty much at any time.

First off, I’m white. My ancestors were British and Irish. One of my ancestors came on the Mayflower and others followed after. However, I’m a woman so that flag didn’t even start to symbolize my freedom until 1920. But I digress.

This article outlines some of the issues.

Obviously your employer can restrict your speech while on the job. But they can’t discriminate against you based on your political beliefs or force you to participate in political displays.

No, I really don’t get that. My employer can’t tell me who to vote for or even whom I voted for. There are about a million anti-discrimination laws in place that restrict employers from monitoring the political lives of employees. It doesn’t seem legal to require your employees to stand for the National Anthem. That’s

The thing is, it’s not at all like wearing a uniform. There are a lot of work protections to prevent discrimination based on political beliefs. This doesn’t sound legal to me.

Oh my God, I had no idea how right I was when I said they’re too busy salivating over whose turn it is to measure the girls’ skirts. Listen to these students report that the girls are policed daily for things like racer-back t-shirts.

Respect for those Visalia kids for standing up to this jerk when apparently even the teachers let him walk around with his hate symbol emblazoned on his chest.

That cop just bonded with you in general irresponsible assholery.

You know, there are so many athletes that get away with rape. You’d think the cops might try catching *those* athletes instead of beating up on innocent guys. But I guess that would dismantle the entire sexist, racist system.

It’s illegal for your employer to force you to stand for the National Anthem. That’s in nobody’s job description.

How can it be legal to force an employee to stand for the National Anthem? There were Jehovah’s Witnesses kids in my grade school who sat through the Pledge of Allegiance, for Pete’s sake. Do not tell me children have more rights than black adults.

Brandon, focus! The protests are about police brutality, not reproduction or jobs.

If the flag gave black people “the opportunity to go from corn fields and picking cotton to the president of the United States of America...” where was that flag when black people were forced into the corn and cotton fields? Same flag, right?

Yeah I get it. None of that makes Jonesy Be Yours’s comment unweird.

The name Chad isn’t “offensive.” It’s just that it’s often the villain’s name in movies. That’s what makes it unintentionally funny.

Why do you think it isn’t a 1-1 deduction? Iirc from last year, it is. So the new tax plan would have her paying 38% instead of 33%.
