Okay, whatever. You’re making a lot of logical leaps and seeing only black and white in shades of gray, but you do you. Somehow Emily Price’s photo is involved in proving me wrong about something but you think it would be mansplaining to describe why. If this is a typical example of your communication and

I see now that your office meeting scenario narrative expanded during the comment thread, complete with the “It was all a dream sequence! Bob never acted like an asshole in the first place!” surprise ending.

You made this account before he even posted this comment. I know because you used it to reply to me.

The key part that you seem to be missing, is that everyone knows the rules before the meeting starts. As a result, Bob is never an a*hole in the first place!

Yeah, cuz a guy repeating info that everyone already knows is somehow cost-effective.

Lets say that Bob didn’t get shut down for wasting time explaining stuff that people already know. Now lets assume that happens in 1/4 meetings that I’m personally in (not necessarily hosting). That’s now in excess of $1500 USD per month of project money. Just for Bob to mansplain.

industry standard names for random people with a particular gender

I can’t wait until Emily reads the alpha test results of her advice.

If you’re not a manager, who the hell is letting you run all these meetings that you dread and that people are always walking out on? And where did you get the power to discipline Bob?

Lol, you invented a woman who uses the word mansplaining in a meeting before being welcomed to leave in order to calm down. I think we can all grasp your opinion of “Alice” from how she appears in your little fantasy world. As well as the fact that you named her and Bob after a wife-swapping movie from the 1960s.

Stating that a policy is gender neutral is really really different from actually having a gender neutral policy.

What do you mean “until any statement is made”? Do you mean Bob’s statement? Because people are asking you why you don’t shut it down after Bob’s statement and before Alice’s. If you’re talking about Alice’s statement, then if she didn’t respond to Bob you’d have no way of knowing if he were being condescending.

That judge thought he was being all activist and was taken aback when she fucking out-activisted his ass all to shreds. As the crowd cheered.

What makes you think I suggested that all rape allegations should be taken as true? Numerous studies have estimated that around 2% of rape allegations are false — about the same percentage as allegations of other types of crime like robberies, iirc. I believe in that stat — I think about 2% are false, and I believe

It’s almost like you didn’t read this blog post at all. Maybe go read it, look at the author’s name and picture, then come back down and try to make this same statement with a serious face.

Jesus Fucking Christ. You can read that article, with all its references to incredible seminal articles, and come out with “all it says is that it’s when a man is condescending to a woman”? I just... okay, you really are working hard not to understand the concept.

Whom are you quoting? Your own imagination? Because I never wrote that every man is an asshole. I don’t think anything anywhere near that.

You think that’s the problem? That’s the problem that has caused hundreds of men to come here and complain that this article should be on Jezebel or that mansplaining doesn’t exist or that using a term like that is sexist?

You’re right, of course no one would expect the barista to write for PC Magazine. But no one would tell a male barista to ask his dad for a tech magazine, either. That’s sexist.

Yeah, I don’t think anyone cries to manipulate people. I don’t know how to make myself cry, do you? There are even some professional actors who can’t make themselves cry. And others who say they had to be trained to do so and that it’s still difficult — even when they’re in a scene that, if it happened in real life,
