Solid B. This episode was strangely disassociated from a victim's weird fate—a far cry from the Eccleston and Tennant years, where the actual person eaten by a blob of oil would be a focus for the Doctor. I mean, he saved Bill, and it was just "ciao, other girl." The intentions of the sentient oil, the impulse it had

Yes, perhaps best "visuals" would have been more accurate. I just loved the reveal.

More. He was six weeks in the hospital. He had all that lying on the bed healing time too.

He wants a girl with no bra in a summer dress. Might as well be Lenny.

My daughter has a theory—Sus exchanges consciousness, and the bodies just catch up later at the switch.

You're absolutely right. She should've been in restraints and he on the floor and so on, or some visual glitch to show that only the Shadow King had made it across—maybe the yellow eyes is supposed to indicate that.

Another dog. Like the unexplained dog in a crate in the first episode, and Walter's carving. And, of course, on the other side, the Shadow King as a beagle. Somebody in this universe really doesn't like dogs.

The clunkiness feels deliberate to me now. The desperation of fine, maybe I can get an answer if a stranger is in the room. And, of course, they act like they're not used to having prisoners, because they're really not.

    You're right. About Noah Hawley. He's a world-breaker.

I've been puzzling about this too. I think once the Shadow King is gone, David can do a lot more, and he's been learning that in the last few episodes. So once the initial shock is gone, he transports himself, in his own body, overriding the timing on Syd's power, and maybe even overriding the chain. Or, maybe at the

There was a guy at the rocks/dock in the first episode whose wearing a stripey carnival-type jacket. I thought the burning was him. In episode 8, it seemed like Clark implied that it was somehow another power David has, but that seems like nonsense given that Syd told him to get into the water, and he wasn't trying or

If memory serves, it's her first dress. And it's a sundress.

I want to give a shout out to the cinematographers and editors.

And that was the best reveal camerawork I've ever seen. Just Oliver and music in an otherwise empty car. Slow pivot around the hood, sound of window opening, and for a few seconds the passenger seat is still empty on the left, but Lenny's hand and arm are coming out on the right.

    Scream yourself away!

He is amazing. His stage work has always had more of this physical side than his tv work I think (maybe excepting Sesame Street). I loved his vulnerability and body work in this.

I need her cast in something with Helena Bonham Carter.
Just the two of them, with everyone else having like a quarter of the screentime total.

It's a dummy. It's been in other episodes. It does look menacing, though.

Called it at the second note, amazed daughter, graciously accepted high five.

I love Kerry, but shout out to the incredible Bill Irwin as Carey as well. Who knew Mr Noodle would end up here?
