I remembered the concept for the first one and the drifting one before watching the fifth one. I kind of liked it (stupid but entertaining) but hated the sixth one that felt like actors of both sexes (not characters) doing macho posturing for two hours. I also strongly objected to the action scenes as a physics

I have rarely seen a movie as uneven as Chappie; the characters are mostly one note, the plot is riddled with holes and I still kind of loved it because of the world building and because I somehow started caring for the characters. I like bonkers, and this was certainly that…

That was my feeling as well. The movie is generally just above average with a really good central performance that elevates it a fair bit. Having seen all the best actress nominees except Cotillard I am fine with Moore winning as I feel she technically did the best acting job, but I have a feeling that Pike or even

I just saw Birdman yesterday and it will be some time until I can rewatch it, but are we sure that when the camera leaves Riggan what we see is what really happens, or what Riggan thinks happens?

I love Muni in Chain Gang and also in Scarface. He's just so commanding and committed to the roles that the fact that he by todays standard is over acting doesn't really matter, it just works. I have never seen an actor be as much better than his castmates in a major movie as Muni in Scarface.

This review is mostly spot on; the films universe is mostly generic except for Bridges who does some weird things with his voice and his line readings that is alienating at first until you get used to it. To those who fear that this is Julianne Moores Norbit I would say no, she does

I had usually forgotten the intricasies of the story by the time I got to watching the next movie in the series so I mainly looked for film making skill, and by that measure Azkaban is so much better than all the other in the series that it is kind of amazing. I used to think it may have been because it was the only

For me it is a movie ABOUT music and how it is important for us in our youth no matter if it is good or bad. We will probably outgrow it and leave it behind, but always have some fondness for it. It is kind of a movie version of Rubber Ring by The Smiths. I thought it was last years' best movie just ahead of Inside

I love it too! IMO best movie made in 2013.

I took the time to see the last 20 or so best picture winners I hadn't seen a few years ago, a task completed just before the Slumdog win. Having seen all the winning pictures I would concur with the pick of Cavalcade. It is stagy, stiffly acted and seemingly offended by the thought of the lower classes escaping
